Blast from the past

Everyone knows the moment when someone from your past suddenly appears in your present. Whether it be an old friend, enemy, old co worker or boss, ex boyfriend or their family.. . 9 times out of 10 it’s not a pleasant reminder.

Is it karma having a laugh, you know, just a little middlefinger from the master of the universe. Or is it destiny trying to remind you of someone or something you’ve been trying to forget and steer you back in the “right” direction.

What do you do in these situations? Do you ignore them and go on with life as normal or are you like me, a headless chicken who decides to hop on that emotional rollercoaster karma’s urging you to get on and end up taking a lovely stroll down memory lane.

I have found myself good in giving advice to friends about situations like these but absolutely shite at taking my own advice. (Urban dictionary: “Shite, a very british and therefor great way of saying shit. The emphasis is on the “i” example: Karen looks like five kinds of shite today. Poor Karen)

Plan of action: blasts from the past will happen no matter how far you run or how hard you try to ignore something or someone. The only thing you can control is how you let it effect you. The reason it’s in the past is because it belongs there, if not, it would be in your present and we wouldn’t be having this conversation. (talking to myself right now)

Second plan of action: Food, you can’t beat a good pork pie and some cheese and red onion crisps. Amen
